Why does my address bar still show some of my history even after deleting my browser history?

I deleted my browser history through "tools". I use internet explorer. But the address bar still has about 4 or 5 sites that will not delete. Even if I try to delete them directly off of the address bar, the reappear again? Can anyone help?
