How to tell if my rabbis foot is broken?

hi i have a little rabbit called milkshake. yesterday he hurt his foot by getting it caught. i would usually think when a rabbits foot is broken it goes inwards but my rabbits is going outwards instead. i would really appreciate some advice ASAP. i don't want him being in pain.
