What does the color scarlet make you think of?

It's not just any red. It's a very bright red with a slight tint of orange in it. It makes me think of the Scarlet letter. Anyway, I want to hear what thing or things visible or abstract it makes you ponder. The person who has the longest list of scarlet things will win ten points.
