Mosquitos and OFF spray on a baby?

My doctor said to look for the one that says "for kids" on it, and to use that one. But my mom always swore by avon's skin so soft body oil- it keeps the bugs off and is very gentle. I think I am going to try to get some of that for my lil one, because the mosquitoes are coming out in force here too!
