Met him online...should I meet him in person?

Basically, I have the typical story of meeting someone online. We've only been talking for about a month now. We talk for hours a day, about anything and everything. We both look forward to the time when we get to talk. Our conversation never runs dry and its always interesting. We make each other laugh. Something that means alot to me is the fact that he is always asking about ME. Like he really wants to get to know who I am. He keeps things interesting, like he'll leave me spontaneous messages to come back to every now and then that are usually funny. I've seen many pictures of him, and I know he's not lying about looks or anything. Here's where my problem lies. He is in the military, stationed in a different country, so we've never even talked on the phone. It's completely ironic, but in a month he is being sent to a place for training that is only an hour away from me. I really like him and I really like talking to him but if he proposes meeting up, I'm a little wary. I think it's just because I feel like it's too soon. I'm not really sure. But this is a once in a lifetime chance, because he is from a completely different side of the US than me, so it's completely ironic. So...do I do it or not?
